Installing and Uninstalling the ADC Instruments USB Driver 2.1 Installing Over Older Versions of the Software If older versions of the software are installed, uninstall the software according to the following procedures 2.1.1 Uninstalling an Older Version of "WinDriver" 2.1.2 Uninstalling an Older Version of "ADC Instruments USB Driver X.X.X" After the older versions of WinDriver and ADC Instruments USB Driver are uninstalled, install the most recent version of WinDriver and ADC Instruments USB Driver according to the procedure described in 2.2. 2.1.1 Uninstalling an Older Version of "WinDriver" For a version of the ADC Instruments USB Driver 1.6.0 or earlier, uninstall "WinDriver". Start > All Programs > ADC Instruments USB Driver X.X.X (X.X.X shows the driver version.) Click "Uninstall WinDriver" to uninstall WinDriver. 2.1.2 Uninstalling an Older Version of "ADC Instruments USB Driver X.X.X" Start > Control Panel> Click [Add or Remove Programs]> Click "ADC Instruments USB Driver X.X.X" to uninstall the driver. After the software has been uninstalled, install the most recent version of WinDriver and ADC Instruments USB Driver according to the procedure described in 2.2. 2.2 Installing the Software for the First Time 2.2.1 Downloading the Installation Files Download the installation files from either the ADC Corp. web site,"http://www.adcmt.com" or a representative's web site in another country. 2.2.2 Decompressing the Compressed Installation Files The downloaded file is a self-extracting compressed executable file. When this file is double clicked, following files are decompressed: readme.txt and ADCUSBDrvrSetupXXXe.exe (XXX shows the driver version.) 2.2.3 Installing the "ADC Instruments USB Driver" Double click ADCUSBDrvrSetupXXXe.exe to run the installation program. Click the [Next] button, [Use permission] is displayed. Read [License Agreement] and click the [I Agree] button to start the installation. - When Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8 is used: When the "Would you like to install this device software?" message window is displayed,click the [Install] button. When the "Windows can't verify the publisher of this driver software" message is displayed, click the [Install this driver software anyway] section. Caution After this driver "WinDriver" is installed, connect instruments and a personal computer by using USB cables. To install ADC Instruments USB Driver, "Administrator" rights are required. 2.2.5 Checking the Software is Installed Correctly Select Control Panel > System or Control Panel > System > Hardware, click "device manager", and then check that "WinDriver" is displayed in the item of the system device or Jungo as a device. 2.3 Uninstalling the Software 2.3.1 Uninstalling ADC Instruments USB Driver Select Start > All Programs > ADC Instrument USB Driver X.X.X, then click "Uninstall". Or click Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs, select [ADC Instrument USB Driver X.X.X], and then click the [Change/Remove] button to delete it. For more information, refer to the manual of this driver. Caution Disconnect the USB cable from both the instrument and the PC before uninstalling the software. To uninstall ADC Instruments USB Driver, "Administrator" rights are required. When uninstalling from Windows XP, an error message may be displayed if "ADC Instruments USB Driver" has not been used.If the error message is displayed, click the [OK] button and follow the uninstallation instructions on the display to uninstall "WinDriver".
